Any male who is fourteen years of age or older and who can trace their ancestry to an honorably discharged Soldier, Sailor, Marine or Revenue Cutter serviceman during the Civil War may become a Member.  The ancestor may be of paternal or maternal; direct or indirect (brother to g-g-grandfather) lineage.  Likewise, any male between six and fourteen years old can join as a Junior Member. Those who do not have a Civil Way ancestor but support the traditions and goals of the Sons may join as an Associate.
